We hear and read about it everywhere these days.
You hear people saying, The future is now.
We must give way to technologies.
We'll be better off and live better lives (not even work) when we allow AI take action.
Yes, technology is here, and we are living at the dawn of the era of AI, and it's a subject that we have heard and seen a lot more about this year.

I wonder what the opportunities will be for your normal person.
What is Going to Happen with Humans?
Can you wonder what is going to occur to the average person? AI is taking over customer service, writing, layout, sales, law, and medicine. As a freelancer and social entrepreneur, the reality is that if you are taking a look at things in a just bottom-line fashion, using AI could make a great deal of sense. They never get ill. They operate 27/7/365. They never stop and may indeed create more than any person could --in a lifetime. From a pure dollars and cents standpoint, AI can earn a lot of sense.
But you must wonder about the broader implications of AI, and I sense that society has not even started to receive its head round the consequences. If you pay even a little attention to the information, then you know that a couple of months past Facebook engineers closed down and pulled the plug on AI that determined on its own to go ahead and develop a new language. It had been more effective for them to receive the job done, but people did not understand. It seems that the language was fundamental, but what happens if the AI hadn't been shut down? Would they have developed a highly sophisticated way to communicate and operate that entirely excised human?
I agree that technologies can be beneficial to society. I believe most people would agree that we would like to send a bot to a dangerous situation, say war, instead of ask our people put their lives on the line. For instance, the very fact that we've started to print human organs together with 3D is a significant improvement, and we have to hope that lots of lives will be saved.
The Deeper Issues Related to AI
My concern as I dig deeper into the problem of AI is exactly what the implications are for the human race, and yes, that even includes how we in the sector connect with one another and with the planet we function. As I noted in the previous post I wrote, the Partnership on AI, which is a collaborative effort between mega-companies such as Facebook, Apple, Google and leading non-profits like UNICEF and Human Rights is attempting to direct the conversation about the implications of AI at all our lifetimes.
If you tune into even a little bit to the dialogue about AI, you know that We Must deal with many problems, including a number of these:
Security: We don't want to be in a situation where AI is generated, and it isn't obligated to protect human life.
Transparency: We had the current situation with Facebook in which they shut AI, but that rules (business or government ) when somebody says & Houston, we have a problem"?
Labor and the Economy: Whose duty is it to train people as AI develops and what will their work acts maintain light of a much more powerful AI spouse? Can people even have jobs?
The reality appears to be apparently developing that there aren't many places --if any--which AI won't touch.
Earth's Competitive Advantage
While I read about issues associated with AI, I think of one thing--humanity. I believe most of us must enter the conversation now about the consequences of AI. I am someone who likes and appreciates individuals just because we're imperfect. There's a lot of prose and poetry in the human condition. AI cannot love, demonstrate courage, hope, vision, sense dread, etc..
In my head, these attributes are what makes people so much better than AI. Our values are our competitive edge compared to AI. There's something intrinsic within individuals (some call it a soul or soul, others connect the scientific dots of all the components that make up our brains, hearts, and bodies) that make us distinctive, and yes, actually exceptional.
We've got a serious conversation that needs to take place about AI, but it involves all people, and we have to pay attention before we have a situation we did not bargain for at the age of technology.
The Path to Humanity as it Greets AI
In a lot of ways, I expect that AI starts to break down the things that divide us and we discover as humans, we're all exactly the same. We're. Take the issues of money, race, faith, sex and everything else; we all bleed red.
We all hurt.
We all hope.
All of us dream.
The way I see it, the time is for humanity. It could be our greatest hours in the dawn of a new age--we all get out of our own way and take part in a global dialogue about humankind in the time of AI.
